Meet Paul

Paul Chong has been a Long Beach Transit (LBT) customer for four years, since moving from the Bay Area. Having relied on public transportation his entire life, Paul continues to use it daily with the help of LBT.Ā 

ā€œLBT is the cleanest and safest I have ever felt using public transportation,ā€ shared Paul. ā€œI commute to work five days a week, so I’m grateful to have an easy and affordable way to get there.ā€Ā 

Paul regularly uses Routes 92, 93, 173 and 46 to commute to work, pick up groceries and explore Long Beach. Without a car, having a bus stop located just outside his apartment provides convenient access to many of the places he visits most often.Ā 

ā€œI take Route 46 along Anaheim Street on my days off because the area has some of my favorite antique shops, vintage stores and restaurants,ā€ Paul said. ā€œAll of my clothes come from the shops there, so I visit often just to walk around.ā€Ā 

In his free time, Paul stays active by taking the bus to the gym, heading to the beach for a run and visiting local pickleball courts. He also enjoys spending time on 2nd Street and relaxing at neighborhood cafes.Ā 

For first-time customers, Paul recommends planning ahead, reviewing routes in advance, and allowing extra travel time can help make the experience smoother.Ā
